Something I've been curious about for years and literally only figured out tonight :-

Michael Jacksons "Smooth Criminal" (one of my favourite Music Videos of all time) is actually a tribute to FRED ASTAIRE! Indeed, the "Golden Age" of the big movie musicals. 8-S

Found this while wandering YouTube. Yes, it's a fanedit but look at the similarities.

<lj-embed id="88" />

<lj-embed id="89" />

The White suit + Blue Shirt, the dance style. The fact that both of them get stylistically violent through the performances. The general wierdness (Fred blowing up the bar with a beer for example). MJ has also incorporated heck knows how many little refernces and "easter eggs" throughout Smooth Criminal itself.

The geek in me is absolutely loving this...

Ah fucking hell! What IS it with me and constantly bumping into things from previous lives?

Found while looking for a couple of old cartoon series I was trying to remember the names of...

<lj-embed id="79" />

Myself and Coriolis wandered that realm for quite a while. Plenty ups and downs along the way but good times are remembered. (Though I never did manage to get ol' Cor' beyond any of the more basic levels and skills. Spent WAAAAAAYYY too long kicking my heels in "Fugue" while the long suffering eye-rollers dragged my sorry arse back out.)

In truth, I watch this and actually feel a little guilty for leaving the realm when I did. The call of distant horizons and newer realms proved too strong and curiousity dragged me to other places. By the time I returned there, Nordock was already dead. 8-(

Pappa, Zanfus, Soego, Megadari, Deeske, EagleC, the list goes on and on.

I wonder how they all fared... ?
